General Health Camp with Uterine Prolapse Screening and Surgery for Women, Khaniyabas, Dhading, Nepal

1057 people from Khaniyabas Rural Municipality, Dhading District, benefitted from the free general health camp with uterine prolapse screening and surgery for women, organized jointly by the Rural Oriented Youth Movement Nepal (ROYM Nepal) and the Colorado Nepal Alliance, the United States of America (USA) In close coordination with the local rural municipalities and health service centers Khaniyabas Municipality, Dhading District from February 22–28, 2019. 91 patients needed further treatment.

Khaniyabas Rural Municipality, situated in the northern sector of Dhading District, encompasses three former VDCs: Darkha, Satyadevi, and Jharlang. Regrettably, the municipality ranks comparably lower in health indices when juxtaposed with other regions within the district, as reported by the Ministry of Health in 2019. Despite its proximity to the capital city of Nepal, being merely 85 kilometers away, the inhabitants of this area contend with a scarcity of quality health services. This deficiency stems from inadequate infrastructure and health facilities within the district, thus subjecting the populace to daily encounters with health-related adversities.
